PUT YOUR RING FINGER TO WORK
Andrea Lavinthal, Style Director: Instead of applying eye cream with my pointer and middle finger, I tap – don’t rub! – it on with my ring finger (it’ll keep you from using too much pressure). And I always make sure to get underneath the eye and on the brow bone (wrinkles happen everywhere, people!).

DON'T FORGET TO SUNSCREEN YOUR HANDS
Andrea: Remember what I said about wrinkles happening everywhere? Everywhere includes your hands. That’s often the first place fine lines appear and they can make you look way older than you are. I coat the tops of mine in sunscreen religiously (yes, even in winter). Because I won’t have anyone thinking I’m older than I actually am.

KEEP LIP BALM IN THE FRIDGE
Brittany: Nope, it’s not for what you think it’s for: I don’t put the stuff on my lips. I apply the chilled balm to dry spots on my body (think: elbows, knees or my chin after making out with my bearded boyfriend). It’s really soothing, plus it’s so concentrated that it keeps those areas smooth and moisturized.

EXFOLIATE WITH A WASHCLOTH
Jackie Fields, Writer-Reporter: I love the ultra-clean feeling that comes with a good scrub, and when I recently ran out of exfoliant, I turned to my washcloth and plain old face wash to do the job. Turns out it works just as well – maybe even better since I can control the level of exfoliation by adding more or less pressure.

LOAD UP ON GOOD FATS
Zoë: Sorry, this doesn’t mean more cupcakes, but rather Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, nuts, certain oils or a supplement (all of which happen to go very well with a glass of white wine!). It sounds counterintuitive, but the fats are good for acne-prone skin, plus I credit it with that flawless glow you see at left. (OK, fine, that might be thanks in part to the Instagram filter I chose.)

CHILL YOUR EYE CREAM
Jackie: While food isn’t always a constant in my fridge (hey, I live in New York City, the land of takeout), eye cream is. And not just because my medicine cabinet is full. Applying the product when it’s cool further reduces puffiness, plus it feels so refreshing in the summer. (And yes, I use Andrea’s patented application method!)
