Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Winter Whites, Furry Accents & Pops of Neon

A cold snap couldn’t keep stars indoors — especially not during a week this packed with parties and premieres! — so we had tons of red carpet eye candy to evaluate. And we spotted two styles that we expect to see more of at the SAGs on Sunday, plus one we think the stars will leave at home. Keep reading for more …

Up: Winter Whites. For a moment, we thought we’d seen the last of ice queen outfits, but boy, were we wrong. This week we spotted two superstars donning chic white numbers: Taylor Swift in a plunging mini (guess that breakover tour is still going strong) and Jennifer Lopez, who wore the pristine shade two days in a row. She first stepped out in a Lanvin bow-accented sheath, then switched gears in a super-sexy KaufmanFranco illusion gown. And though white wasn’t a popular color choice at the Golden Globes, we wouldn’t be shocked if that changes come Sunday night.

Up: Furry Accents. Is a hint of fur the new splash of sparkle? Nicole Richie took a style risk in a Ferragamo number with fuzzy piping on its bodice, and Olivia Palermo opted for a cozy vest in the material. And with trendsetters like those two wearing the look, we wonder which fashion-forward starlet will give into her animal instincts next.

Down: Pops of Neon. Miranda Lambert finished off her floral frock with bright-pink Brian Atwood platforms — making her one of the few celebs still donning the summery hue. Right now, celebs are letting their dresses shine by playing down their accessories — a trend we think will last at least until the seasons change.
