DR DENNIS GROSS ANTI-AGING COLLECTION
Andrea Lavinthal, Style Director: Recently I noticed way more strands in my shower drain. Panicked, I ran to dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross, who just launched a hair care line to address hair loss and thinning. The shampoo, conditioner and serum contain procyanidin-B2 protein complex, which is said to promote growth, plus several other good-for-your-scalp ingredients. It’s only been a few weeks, but I feel better just knowing I’m fighting the issue with some serious artillery.

PUREOLOGY SEA-KISSED TEXTURIZER MIST
Andrea: I love the way texturizing sprays make my hair look, but not so much the way they make it feel (crunchy, dry, matted). This new formula uses red algae instead of salt to create sexy, beachy waves and it also contains a blend of olive, apricot and jojoba oils for added shine.

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE PRÊT-À-POWDER
Zoë Ruderman, Senior Style Editor: I may have “Official Dry Shampoo Tester” added to my business card. I’ve tried dozens, but this one stands out for two reasons: the scent (so fresh) and how a little goes a long way (I sprinkle just a bit on my roots to get my hair oil-free and voluminous). One note: If you have dark hair, make sure you really rub the stuff in – otherwise, it leaves a grayish tinge. (Or just opt for the brand’s aerosol dry shampoo, designed for brunettes!)

TONI & GUY HEAT PROTECTION MIST
Zoë: I vowed to start using a heat protectant after watching the video of the girl who burned off a single tendril while using a wand. I love that this one doesn’t make my hair sticky or crunchy, plus I’ve noticed that my strands are smoother since I’ve been spritzing this on before blowdrying, curling and flat-ironing.

KéRASTASE PARIS VOLUMIFIQUE SHAMPOO & GELéE CONDITIONER
Brittany Talarico, Associate Editor: I’ve been on the hunt for a shampoo and conditioner that deliver volume (my hair is pin-straight and can get kinda flat) without the frizz. This duo does both thanks to its secret ingredient, cellulose powder, which thickens hair fiber for added body. It’s pricey, but my hair crush Allison Williams recently told me she’s a fan so obviously I’m using it.

LIVING PROOF FLEX SHAPING HAIRSPRAY
Brittany: You’d be crazy not to try a hair product that uses (she reps the brand). So I grabbed a bottle and the results made me glad I did. I especially like the spritz it on before I put in my hot rollers (yes, I still use hot rollers). My curls stayed full and bouncy way longer than when I’ve used other hairsprays.

HARRY JOSH DIFFUSER
Alex Apatoff, Contributor: I have a lot of hair, and spent all of high school waking up early for marathon blow-drying and straightening sessions. In college, diffusers left my hair lion-y and unmanageable. I hadn’t heat styled since 2008, so I was sure I’d dismiss this pricey hair tool combo (you need the $250 dryer too) from celeb stylist Harry Josh. But no joke, it changed my life. My hair was soft and shiny, my curls were defined and glossy, and I was totally done in 20 minutes flat. If only my younger self had owned this …

IT'S A 10 IN10SIVE LEAVE-IN CONDITIONER
Alex: Also unchanged since 2008: My hair product routine, in which I apply four different ones then refuse to leave the house before it’s completely dry. I was skeptical that a lightweight formula like this, no matter how silky it was or how good it smelled, could tame the mane on its own. However, it worked well with my new diffuser and kept frizz at bay – though I did have to add a heavier product on day two to refresh my thick curls.
