After the all the buzz her floral Givenchy gown got last year (you remember — the one with the built in gloves), Kim Kardashian surprised us with an understated dose of glamour for this year’s Met Gala.

Kardashian selected a blue strapless Lanvin gown with a black waistband and thigh-high slit (we knew there would be some skin-baring somewhere!), teamed with black strappy heels, side-swept waves and Lorraine Schwartz danglers. And the style editors here would like to give her fiancé Kanye West props for actually paying homage to Charles James in a black tux with coattails.
Kardashian also wore a satin Lanvin design for her Vogue cover, which has us wondering if the star (who usually turns to Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy for her high-fashion moments) is collaborating with Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz for her wedding dress.
Tell us: What do you think of Kim and Kanye’s red carpet couple moment? Is this one of her best red carpet looks?
