The Olsen sisters apparently have bridal wear on the brain! Both Mary-Kate and her little sister Elizabeth are engaged, so now seems like the perfect time for Mary-Kate and Ashley to venture into wedding dress design territory. And their best friend Molly Fishkin was the lucky recipient of the first-ever bridal gown from the designers behind The Row and Elizabeth and James.
The result? A stunning all-lace creation with a romantic scoop neck and sheer bell sleeves. The whimsical design had a feminine, boho aesthetic, and the silhouette was tailored by the Mary-Kate and Ashley to perfectly flatter the bride’s proportions.
“They are very close friends of mine and have been for the last 15 years,” Fishkin says in the August issue of
. “The minute I got engaged, they said they would love to design my wedding dress. I was thrilled — their taste is impeccable, and I really trust them. They were always so calming and made the process incredibly enjoyable. I will never forget what they did for me. Designing my gown with them was the most exciting and emotional experience of my life.”
Fishkin accessorized her look with a matching floor-length veil (also by The Row), Manolo Blahnik crocodile slides and very loose waves — and the end result was exactly the kind of simple glamour that the Olsens’ clothing lines embody. We’ve previously speculated about what Mary-Kate might design for her own wedding, and this might be a clue — though the bohemian, relaxed vibe of this gown seems to have “Elizabeth” written all over it.
