She plays the semi-helpless Snow White in the upcoming Mirror Mirror, but actress Lily Collins (daughter of Phil and rumored girlfriend of Zac Efron) is anything but meek. In the March issue of Nylon magazine, the 22-year-old recalls landing her first modeling job — while on a plane.
“I was … coming back from New York and Tommy Hilfiger was on the same flight,” she shares. “We got to talking [and] before the flight had taken off he had already called his fashion show producer and put me in the show for the next day.”
The experience was fun for Collins, it seems, though she did notice a difference between herself and her fellow catwalkers. “I’m shorter than the other girls, obviously,” she says. “But I was the short girl with attitude.”
That moxie translates into Collins’s personal style, which she describes as “eclectic. I like mixing vintage with modern,” she explains. “It’s more of a classic, sophisticated chic meets young, fresh girl on the go. I love mixing colors and all sorts of aesthetics.”
Her home is styled in a similar way. Navigating the Melrose Trading Post flea market during her interview, she reveals, “My apartment is furnished with all this kind of stuff. I call it organic industrial zen.” For more with Collins, pick up the March issue of Nylon, on newsstands now, and catch Mirror Mirror in theaters on March 30.
