Considering Kimberly Stewart’s dad is famous rocker Rod Stewart (who snuck her into nightclubs when she was 16 years old!), it’s safe to say Kimberly knows a thing or two about killer rock star style. So when we found out about her new fashion venture — a Rock ‘n’ Roll skinny scarves collection with Rockins — we needed to hear all about her inspiration.

Stewart’s collaboration with the edgy British brand formed after striking up a friendship with Rockins co-founder Jess Morris. “We’ve known each other for ages, we met through a mutual friend,” explains Stewart. “She knows how much I loved the brand and have worn skinny scarves faithfully so she just called me one day and suggested that we do a collaboration.”
Morris and co-founder Tim Rockins adds, “She has rock ‘n’ roll in her DNA which truly informs her personality and lust for life.” So together they created a collection that captures her “spirit” throughout with a five-piece capsule.
The designs include a polka-dot stripe pattern, flag motif, classic plain black shade, leopard (which she says is her personal fave, “It’s definitely my signature pattern”) and a Blue Bonnet floral print which mimics the matching tattoos she and her mother, Alana Stewart, share. (The Blue Bonnet is the state flower of Texas where Alana was born.)

Inspo for her other designs also came from her famous fam. “My inspiration comes from both my mom and my dad. My dad for the obvious reasons; the rock ‘n’ roll culture,” says Stewart. “And also my mom who was a Studio 54 staple and who continues to be extremely fashionable.” Case in point: This sexy ’70s-esque jumpsuit her mom (who’s 70-years-old, we may add) rocked last month — paired with a skinny scarf, of course!

She elaborates that her father’s aesthetic has definitely influenced her own. “Growing up with my dad I would definitely say a little of his style has rubbed off on me in terms of what I naturally gravitate towards. I’m constantly inspired by him, and other iconic bands such as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac just to name a few.”
And we had to know, with a closet full of leather, fringe and leopard-print pieces, did she ever swipe clothes from dad? “I have a couple of his stage belts, and I’m completely obsessed with them,” she says. “They are really thick leather belts covered with mirrored glass. They are probably the sickest things I’ve stolen from his closet.”
As for any more designs down the road, she’s not ruling it out!.”I definitely want to design more skinny scarves,” she shares. “I’ve enjoyed this collaboration and I’m looking forward to this being the beginning of a long time relationship with Rockins.”
