Katy Perry Models Her Katy Kat CoverGirl Collection at Coachella (You Still Have to Wait Until Summer to Get Your Claws In)

Updated

Katy Perry wasn’t content to give you FOMO just by attending Coachella on the arm of Orlando Bloom and attending beautiful, celeb-studded pool parties. No, she also had to take the envy-inducing behavior to the next level by showing off her brand new Katy Kat line for CoverGirl, which the rest of us won’t be able to get our paws on until July.

“I wanted to push the envelope with CoverGirl,” the brand’s longtime spokesperson told
Vogue
of the 11 Katy Kat lipstick shades and black and blue mascaras, which will launch in May. “You know, a black lipstick or a blue mascara is very Tumblr — I told them, this is what’s happening online, this is what everyone’s Instagramming.” (And then she proved it, by Instagramming it herself at the fest.)

The star and her pals took some of the brightest shades for a test spin, and she assures fans that her shades won’t leave your lips parched — even in the arid desert. “Personally, I love a matte finish more than a gloss because a gloss gets all over everything,” she tells Vogue of the formula. “I want to put my lipstick on once in the early morning and not have to think about it for quite a few hours, you know? My lipsticks are a moisturizing demi-matte because sometimes mattes can make you look like you haven’t drank water in two weeks.”
