How You Can Buy Kristen Bell's Clothes Straight from the Screen

Posted on

There are ways to track down the covetable fashions you spot on the silver screen (like asking us!), but Target is making the process a whole lot easier by introducing the first-ever shoppable movie, Falling for You.

Starring Kristen Bell, Nia Long and Zachary Abel — and directed by Mad Men‘s Phil Abraham — the film hits the Internet next week, and through what Target calls “an enhanced online experience,” viewers will be able to browse, share and purchase more than 110 of the retail giant’s fashion, beauty and home items. (Everything was chosen by celeb stylist Jen Rade, so you know it’s going to be good.)

At the movie’s premiere at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles Thursday night, Bell said it was (obviously) fashion that attracted her to the project. “I’ve certainly had tons of times when I’ve watched films and said, ‘Oh, I wish I had that jacket.’ This provides a way for people to point to it, click on it and put it in their basket,” she said. “I thought it was really innovative and very forward-thinking.”

It helped that the movie was for Target, too. “I’ve shopped at Target since I was a little girl and now living out in L.A., I still do,” she shared. Add an esteemed director into the mix, and “I figured that with [Target and Abraham] combined we couldn’t go wrong,” she said.

The film will be released in three five-minute episodes on Oct. 2, Oct. 4 and Oct. 9 at Target.com/FallingforYou, and will stay online though Oct. 31. In the meantime, you can check out a quick preview (sadly not shoppable just yet) above. Tell us: Do you think you’ll shop Falling for You? What do you think about the concept of a shoppable movie?
