Grammy Awards 2014: Louise Roe's Red Carpet Photo Diary, From High Heels to Pharrell's Hat

Updated

Once again, the incomparably delightful (and super-stylish) Louise Roe was on the red carpet at a major awards show — and as a member of our Celeb Style Council, she was kind enough to share her up-close-and-personal stylish snaps with us. From a good look at her fabulous shoes to a close encounter with Pharrell’s hat, Roe had quite a night, as you can see below.

For Roe, the night starts — and continues — with plenty of caffeine. The photo at left shows her in hair and makeup at the crack of dawn. “It’s 6:30 a.m. and we begin hair and make-up … it’s Grammys day, which means a long day! I settled in with my cup of tea and sweats,” she tells us. Later, she sneaks in another last minute fix before hitting the red carpet to interview the stars: “A last-minute caffeine and potassium fix on the carpet, I won’t be able to eat again for a while!”

Even professionally stylish people like Roe have last-minute wardrobe crises, she shares. “Ten minutes after I should be in the car, I have a last-minute panic and decide to switch dresses,” she says. “I change super-fast into a black racer-front with cut-outs, by Australian label Manning Cartell. I feel edgier and cooler in this look. I put on Kimberly McDonald earrings and a different ring instead.” She also picks a pair of heels by Shoedazzle, but she assures us they only look killer. “I’ll be hosting Grammy.com’s official coverage live for five hours straight on the red carpet. That’s a long stint in heels!”

She snags an interview with 30 Seconds to Mars, which means she was three feet away from Jared Leto’s glorious mane. “I interview everyone from Stevie Nicks and Iggy Azalea, to Jared Leto and one of my faves, Kevin Hart (below).”

Not only did she get to chat up music’s biggest names on the red carpet, but she also had some memorable backstage moments, including a good look at Pharrell’s buzzworthy Vivienne Westwood hat. “After the show, host Quddus and I interview the stars. Here’s Pharrell, who was beyond humble and kind. He told me he styles himself!” she says.

Finally, she got to sit after a long day in her heels — but the music was so great, it was hard to stay in her chair. “The show is epic,” she says. “Daft Punk’s performance with Pharrell and Stevie Wonder has everyone on their feet.” Hopefully she’s getting a long, relaxing day with her feet up poolside after all that.

What was your favorite Grammys moment? Who had your favorite gown? Tell us in the comments!
