Fashion Goes 3-D: Burberry's New Interactive Digital Campaign

There are so many reasons to get excited about Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, from the refined military-inspired clothing and luxe accessories themselves to the ad campaign’s gorgeous all-British cast of musicians, actors and models–including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who was recently tapped to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3. But perhaps the coolest of all is the venerable label’s innovative digital ads: the luscious images shot by Mario Testino in London and set to music by the The Waterboys are now interactive. “We wanted to capture the energy of the [fashion] shows in the campaign,” said Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey. “We wanted the energy of them jumping out of the page.” Thanks to new technology, you can now control your own view of the campaign images to get 180-degree views of a clutch or a boot or see the models in motion–with just a swipe of your mouse. “Burberry was founded on innovation and outerwear,” said Bailey. “And I want anyone who sees the campaign not just to see images, but to feel a part of what we have created; connecting people through technology, music, the collections, the attitude, and the emotion captured.” To check out Burberry’s AW2010 collection in 3-D, visit burberry.com. –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley
