It can be so hard to cast models these days — especially if they’re social media stars. Eva Mendes found that out the hard way when she tried to style love Ryan Gosling’s dog in a piece from her New York & Company fall collection. Let’s just say George looks less than impressed.

“Here’s a shot of my first customer. He can’t decide between the gray suede boots or the burgundy. What do you guys think?” she captioned the silly snap, which shows George in one of Mendes’s signature looks — a head scarf — made from a silky print dress. “I keep telling him to just go with what feels right. He’s such a little fashionista though. Won’t leave the house until everything’s perfect.”
(Of course, this is hardly George’s first brush with the spotlight — he accompanied Gosling to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon in 2011 and was a bit of a diva there too. That explains why Mendes chose to promote her fall launch without George’s help on her Instagram after that. Just take, for instance, her demonstration of the marvelous turtleneck tank-turned-head wrap:
And of course, the iconic photo of a designer surrounded by her wares — with one little twist. “Just seconds after this photograph was taken Ms. Mendes was attacked by her pre-fall line. The @nyandcompany collection escaped TODAY online! Warning ladies!! It’s pretty killer and it’s on the loose!!”
Are you planning to shop her collection now that you’ve seen it on George? Any favorites?
