Her reign as an indie darling continues, but Elizabeth Olsen is a reluctant fashion plate.
“I’m actually not very good with all this designer stuff,” the 22-year-old tells Refinery29. “I just know basic ones.”
For a newcomer, however, her learning curve is rather impressive. Along with Marni and Céline, she swears by edgier labels including Isabel Marant and Carven. “I wore an orange floral Proenza Schouler dress that I was like obsessed with to the W magazine pre-Golden Globes party,” she gushes of a recent standout look (left).
And though she’s Mary-Kate and Ashley’s little sister, don’t credit The Row designers with Elizabeth’s ingénue style. “I don’t live with them, and they don’t dress me,” she says. “Like, I’m an adult, ha!”
But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t shopped her sisters’ closets before. “I used to do it a lot more, but I’ve overgrown them by a lot,” she admits. “I overgrew them in high school, and then all of my friends started getting their hand-me-downs.”
