I have a lot of weddings coming up, as I’m sure many of you do, too — and deciding what to wear isn’t always easy! With this look, I wanted to put together something that was trendy and made me feel confident, but was also totally wedding appropriate.
The Forever 21+ dress is a fit-and-flare cut which looks great on everyone. It’s fitted at the waist and flares out at the hips to give the illusion of an hourglass shape. Plus, it comes in a million (okay, six) different shades if pink is not your color! The Prabal Gurung for Target blazer is the perfect layering piece and is totally essential for outdoor weddings that run into the evening. A structured blazer gives the look of strong shoulders, which I love. I’ve never been self-conscious about my arms, but I know that some plus girls are — a blazer is great for throwing over a sleeveless dress! It’s also a really easy way for anyone to wear white, which can sometimes be a daunting shade for plus-size girls. The fabric is structured, so it won’t cling and show every nook and cranny.
Neutral pumps are seriously a girl’s best friend. They go with everything and make my legs look longer! This pair from Cole Haan is really close to my skin tone, so it has an instant lengthening effect. My “Off We Go” clutch by Kate Spade adds a playful pop to the outfit. The bag is designed to look like a license plate (from California, my home state!). I finished with a bold gold necklace I got as a hand-me-down. It’s simple and polished, but still makes a statement.
Picking an outfit for a wedding doesn’t have to be a stressful situation — the key is finding pieces that are appropriate and that make you feel your best.
