Hilary Swank offered Londoners a taste of her demure wardrobe yesterday, appearing at two events for perfumier Guerlain, looking equally chic at both. The actress made a seemingly effortless change from a Louis Vuitton 1940’s inspired belted suit (worn at a perfume signing at Selfridges that afternoon) into a fabulous Dolce and Gabbana corseted black dress later that evening when she co-hosted a dinner with Guerlain in London’s glitzy Mayfair. “I love this dress,” she told PEOPLE accepting compliments most graciously. “I just put it on, it didn’t need any alterations, it’s great,” she beamed, accessorizing with a Jimmy Choo clutch and heels. With guests such as Mick Jagger, Bryan Ferry, Kid Rock and Harry Connick Jr. turning up to fete the Oscar winning actress and face of the latest Guerlain fragrance ‘Insolence’ – the svelte actress described the scent in her own words: “To me it encapsulates a lot of different emotions. I think it’s fresh, it’s young but I think it’s classy and can feel older.” A spritz or two later, and we agreed– it’s a classic, much like the hostess herself.
