Calling All Brides: Now You Can Rent Lady Mary's Wedding Tiara (For $2,000!)

Posted on

Carnival Film & Television Limited For Masterpiece

Obsessed with Downton Abbey style? Operating on a big — we mean big — bridal budget? If you answered yes to both of those questions, we have some good news. You can rent Lady Mary’s now-famous diamond wedding tiara for your trip down the aisle. (Warning: Spoilers below!)

For most Downton fans, the highlight of season 3 was Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) finally marrying Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), her now-deceased husband. The show’s costume designer, Caroline McCall, went all out for the bride’s look, topping the custom long-sleeve pearl-and-crystal embellished wedding gown (which took eight weeks to create!) with a 45-carat garland diamond tiara, valued at $200,000 from U.K. jeweler Bentley & Skinner.

Now the jeweler is renting the gorgeous piece for $2,000 per day, according to InStyle. And you better not lose or break it, because the rental fee includes a deposit of $200,000. (But you’ll be getting a little extra bang for your buck: The crown also converts into two brooches!)

Are you still lusting after Lady Mary’s bridal beauty moment? Would you consider splurging on the tiara? Share your thoughts below!
