It’s another teen milestone for Bindi Irwin! Last year the daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin turned 16 and got got her learner’s permit. And to kick off 2015, she’s checking off another big “first” from her list — the first time she dyed her hair.

Over the weekend, Irwin posted a sweet snap alongside her 11-year-old brother Robert. At first, all we noticed was the crazy resemblance between Robert and his dad. And then we noticed that his sister’s hair looks way darker than her usual sun-kissed, dirty-blonde tresses.
Judging from the photo, it looks like Irwin went for an allover chestnut hue. (The filter might also have something to do with it, but we’d say she definitely darkened up a shade or two.) But don’t expect the animal activist to continue to experiment with dramatic beauty (or style) moves. Last summer, the Aussie TV personality revealed that it’s important to her to enjoy her youth and stay true to her age.
“I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age,” Irwin told News Corp Australia last summer. “I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways … it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard.”
