When it comes to royal weddings, two is always better than one.
When Italian heiress Beatrice Borromeo married Monaco’s Pierre Casiraghi (currently seventh in line for the throne) during a civil ceremony last weekend, she wore two different Valentino creations. On Saturday, when the couple held their religious ceremony on her family’s private island in Italy, she decided to go with another famed Italian fashion house — Armani.
The model-turned-journalist did another double-dress moment, donning a quarter-sleeved custom ivory Giorgio Armani Privé gown for their garden ceremony and then changing into a flowing silk tulle number for their white tie reception.
Armani confirmed that they designed the two frocks on their Instagram, sharing a beautiful photo from the ceremony. She wore the Borromeo family lace veil, which dates back several generations, a source tells PEOPLE.
Despite picking Armani for her second wedding party, Borremo actually has very close family connections to Valentino — her uncle, Matteo Marzotto, was previously the president of the Valentino Maison, when it was part of the Marzotto textiles group. Still, when you’re an heiress marrying into Monaco royalty, there’s always room for more Italian designers!
