Ever since she started dating Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani has really been getting in touch with her country girl roots. We first noticed the country singer’s aesthetic rubbing off on Gwen early last month, but it appears as things heat up between the pair, her fashion sensibility also becomes decidedly more laidback.

As she hit the recording studio yesterday, Gwen stepped out in a very interesting pair of faux mud-covered jeans from her favorite denim brand DSquared2 that retail for around $755. These appear to be the dramatically pared down, off-duty version of the ombré gold glitter pair she wore on her football game date with Blake at the end of last year.

But The Voice coach’s pastoral makeover didn’t stop there. Gwen matched her questionable choice of dirt-stained slacks with a camel colored coat and forest green sweater, both of which featured the same abstract all-over camo print, and finished off her ensemble with a pair of white polka dot platform sneakers. But no outdoorsy outfit could be complete without the solid foundation of a button-down flannel, which you can see just peeking out from beneath her sweater. In case this whole outfit seems a little too out of left field for Gwen, there is a silver lining: Should Shelton call her up to go on an impromptu four-wheeler date through a mud field, no woman has ever been more sartorially prepared for such an occasion.
What do you think of Gwen Stefani’s mud-covered pants? Would you wear them? Do you think Blake Shelton’s style is rubbing off on the singer for better or worse?
