She has made her signature baby doll dress into an American sportwear staple and dressed the likes of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss— and now, Anna Sui is cementing her fashion icon status with a book about her 20-year career. “It is wonderful to see so many years of my work illustrated in Chronicle’s retrospective,” the designer says in a release. “I feel that this book truly captures the World of Anna Sui.” Due out in November, the 400-page tome, featuring photographic spreads and detailed commentary on Sui’s first-ever fashion show in 1991, will allow readers to delve into the designer’s creative process. Written by Andrew Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the book will also include a preface by White Stripes frontman Jack White, an introduction by legendary photographer Steven Meisel, and a foreward by Sui herself. We can’t wait for the new book to hit shelves this fall, but in the meantime, check out Anna Sui’s latest offerings at annasui.com. —David Yi
