Alexis Bittar Designs the Prettiest Makeup Brushes Ever for Sephora

Updated

Celeb-loved jewelry designer Alexis Bittar is crossing over to the beauty world with a much-anticipated, limited-edition collection of makeup accessories that will make you feel so fancy. Just like Bittar’s signature jewels, the brushes are made of lucite, 24-karat-plated gold and Swarovski crystal embellishments. The collection includes three pieces: a full brush set with a stand to display them in, a touch-up brush and travel wrap and an impossibly glamorous compact. Let’s take a look.

Since we’re total smoky eye addicts, we’re loving the Beauty Brush Set and Stand ($175). It has every tool you could need to create perfectly sultry, smoked-out lids: a shadow brush, smudger and angled liner brush. It also comes with two complexion essentials: a powder brush and an angled brush for blush and contouring. “Luxury is in the detail, not in the price point. that’s my belief,” Bittar tells PEOPLE. “For example, designing a stand for the brush set made sense. Aesthetically it’s a throwback to 1950s women’s boudoirs and how they would display perfumes.”

Next up is the Beauty Brush and Travel Wrap ($58). The rounded brush tip is very multi-purpose (you can use it to blend, reapply powder, contour and more) so it’s a great one to pack for trips. But the coolest part of this duo is the suede pouch it comes in which also doubles as a chic jewelry roll.

Lastly, there’s the Compact Mirror ($42). With it’s sculptural gold design and black tassel it feels futuristic and old Hollywood all at once. Personally, we can’t wait to whip it out casually to reapply some lipstick (and we hope we’ll feel like a space-age Dita Von Teese) .

So what inspired the pieces? “I got the idea of fusing Studio 54, New Wave and liquid gold,” Bittar tells PEOPLE. “I wanted to do more than brushes and came up with a compact mirror with a black tassel … because it’s an essential when dancing the late nights. That’s coming from a gay man, so you ladies can decide!”

While there’s nothing wrong with our everyday makeup brush set, we love how this one feels so luxurious and special. They’re perfect for adding glamour to your dresser or as a extra fabulous gift.
