At roughly 1:00 pm EST on Wednesday, the social media moment we’ve been dreaming of came true: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen gave Instagram a test drive and shared their very first public selfie with the world. And it didn’t end there. During their very rare takeover of Sephora‘s account, they continued to post photos throughout the day, showing us a tiny peek into their oh-so-private lives.
Between their absence on Fuller House and the mere glimpse we’ve gotten of MK’s wedding band, we’ve been feeling a bit deprived by the duo. And while we are up-to-date on their fan fashion sites, their venti-Starbucks-cup toting paparazzi shots are no longer filling the void. So to say that this day in the spotlight caused a great deal of joy would be an understatement.
2:00 p.m.: Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better than their black-and-white glamour shot, the twins gave us a look at their un-manicured and under-accessorized hands sifting through photos of clothing from their fashion line, Elizabeth and James.

3:00 p.m.: It only makes sense that a set of twins would reveal identical salads as their lunch of choice: Two bowls of arugula and spinach, topped with what looks to be shredded chicken, fennel and charred red onion, all locally grown, according to their caption.
4:00 p.m.: Back to work! The designers browse fabric choices for new additions to their collection of Elizabeth and James handbags, with options including grey, off-white, mustard, black and brown leather.
4:45 p.m.: MK&A pay a visit to one of their team members, who’s working behind the scenes to create samples — white textured clutches and a beige backpack, which looks a lot like the super-luxe alligator backpacks they’ve designed for their other line, The Row.
So now that we know how they spend their days, and that they’re emoji-savvy, we can only hope that one day, our lives will be graced with a permanent Olsen Twin social media presence.
Was it a day well-spent? Tell us below.
