Anybody need a mobile unit? Contemporary furniture designer Judson Beaumont created the Pet Camper for his daughter’s pooch because he wanted a house on wheels. “You could still vacuum or mow the lawn without the house getting in the way,” Beaumont says. The campers are currently only custom-made (price upon request), but Beaumont’s firm plans to mass-produce the houses soon.

Best Friend’s Home, a German company, was inspired by its Australian shepherd, Maya, to create its line of dog houses in April 2009. “We were on the hunt for a beautiful designer home for our dog, but were really disappointed about the selection we found,” says founder Doria Keppler. Their first creation was called Cubix and done in the Bauhaus style. Priced at $2,400.
