Two-Legged Dog Dances For Vets

Posted on

Faith, the amazing two-legged therapy dog who inspired Oprah Winfrey and scores of others when she became famous earlier this year, danced for and ate cookies with other inspiring Americans when she visited the Veterans Center in Norman, Okla., recently.

A chow-mix, Faith was born with two good back legs and had her one deformed front leg removed when she was just seven weeks old. The Army gave the dog an honorary commission of sergeant, which seems only fitting because Reuben Stringfellow, the man who rescued Faith, is now an Army sergeant, too.

“Faith was petted and loved on by so many cheerful and happy faces,” Jude Stringfellow, who’s Reuben’s mom, writes on the dog’s Web site about the day. “She was a bit more vocal today than usual – maybe it was her way of saying thank you.”
