The denim is wrapped around objects such as tires that the animals will gnaw on and bat about during playtime. Once the lions, tigers and bears finish, the denim pieces are stitched together into jeans that sport an arguably more authentic “worn in” look than that pair your took a scissors to in high school. “The wild rips and tears in Zoo Jeans have been created with pure animal instinct,” boasts the fashion line’s website.
You can even select which animal you want to design your look: L1 for jeans pre-distressed by lions, T1 for tigers and B1 for bears. See a gallery of how the final products turned out here. The auction began Monday, July 14, and proceeds benefit the animals themselves as well as the World Wildlife Fund.
