Home. Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to extraordinary adoptable pets every week. Today, meet Holly, a pit bull with tons of personality.
Ask around in Baltimore, Md., and it’s likely people have heard of this 2-year-old sweetheart. “She’s actually a bit of a local celebrity,” says Wendy Goldband of the Baltimore Humane Society. “Known as ‘Shakespeare Dog,’ she co-starred in Baltimore Shakespeare Factory’s Taming of the Shrew and Hamlet. The audience loved her. So did the cast. She was incredibly quick to learn her parts and a great team player.”
Even with all those fans, Holly is still looking for a place to call home. This goofy girl – who was found wandering the streets in 2011 – has “a great butt wiggle” says Goldband, “and an adorable cock of the head when she hears interesting sounds.” Active and carefree, this pup loves to play with toys and tennis balls, and adores cuddling – she just hasn’t found the perfect partner to snuggle up to.
“All the staff adores her,” Goldband says. “Her ideal adopter may be someone who likes to people-watch on a park bench.”
If Holly sounds like the companion you’ve been looking for, contact the Baltimore Humane Society at (410) 833-8848.
