SNEAK PEEK: Inside a Lady Antebellum Star’s Nashville Home

Posted on

When Charles Kelley and his wife Cassie decided to give their Nashville home a makeover, Charles had one main worry.

“I was concerned about losing my favorite lounging couch,” the Lady Antebellum star tells PEOPLE of the family’s all-white sectional.

But after enlisting the help of One Kings Lane’s new designer services, The Studio, and their head designer, Alex Reid, the couple—who welcomed their son Ward in February—knew they were in good hands.

“We were at the point for our home to give it a little refresh that was kid-friendly,” says Cassie, founder of the women’s lifestyle site, Womanista. “We had a lot of white in our house, which I love, but it is not necessarily going to conducive for a toddler in a couple of years.”

To get her vision across, Cassie sent Reid inspiration pictures that had a “beachy, relaxed vibe,” she says, “and he was able to marry that with Southern traditional, which is the style of the rest of our home.” Plus, the designer was able to incorporate pieces with family in mind—like using an upholstered ottoman instead of a coffee table to eliminate any sharp edges.

“We really scaled everything down and did a cool mix of pieces,” says Reid. “It’s still all very conversational and it’s family-friendly—but also conducive for entertaining.”

And Charles’ final verdict? “I actually love it!” he says. “The way the new space is laid out and having the ottoman, I’m still able to stretch out my long legs.”
